I was recently thinking to myself…what is a luxury lifestyle?
As a content creator and influencer who is centered on the topic of luxury, it might seem strange that I would be asking myself this question. I wanted to ground myself in the lessons that I am communicating to you, though, so I let myself ask this very simple question.
Luxury defined is to live life in a state of comfort and to live extravagantly.
That sounds about right, especially when you look at what culture and social media show us luxury is. I wasn’t satisfied, though.
Why? Because I know that my aim isn’t just to have a bunch of pretty things and to live life in excess. My goal is to live a purposeful, fulfilling lifestyle, and as all the wise men and women have said, money and possessions won’t bring you happiness.
So, when thinking about luxury, what is it that I’m attracted to? Why do I want to live a luxury lifestyle? What is so appealing? Yes, it’s beautiful, but I want to know the feeling that I am searching for.
Basically put, a luxury lifestyle is one of freedom. Whenever I see someone living a luxury life, I see that they are able to do what they want when they want. They are their own boss. They make their own decisions. They do what they love and succeed at it.
The luxury lifestyle is a life of freedom.
And going deeper, a luxury lifestyle is OPEN.
Now, I know that you’re asking me, “Ellison, what does luxury have to do with being open?” Let me explain!
Openness
When I say that the luxury lifestyle is open, I mean that nothing is off the table. For many of us, we grew up believing that life had to look one specific way, and that that one way of life was all that was available to us.
Luxury, though? Luxury doesn’t think anything is off the table. Luxury isn’t closed-off from different avenues and opportunities. Luxury is open anything.
Going along with that, luxury is open to doing what it takes to obtain those goals and unique opportunities. The moment we say that something won’t work out for us, or that something is too hard for us to do, we close ourselves off from luxury.
Luxury looks at an opportunity, and if there is interest in that opportunity, the question is asked: “What do I need to do to achieve it?”
Are you open to staying up a little later to work on your goals?
Are you open to saying “no” to something because you want to stay focused?
Are you open to learning about something you’ve never done before?
Are you open to changing how you live your life in order to live a better one?
Are you open? If you are open, then you are 100% ready to live a luxury lifestyle! That openness is going to help you embrace new adventures, try new things, and be willing to make the changes you need to make to your life!
